I painted Gracie in honour of sweet Sophie Lancaster, who was murdered in 2007 in the UK. She and her boyfriend, Robert Maltby (who survived), were attacked by a number of teenage boys while walking through a park. The reason for the attack was because they were dressed as Goths. she was only twenty.
